Prior to break we enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt with our friends, Alison, Jocelyn and Quincy Dokter, at their church. The kids had a great time!

I asked Quincy to show me his eggs he found. :)

Gretna schedules Spring Break around Easter each year, so the kids were off Thursday, Friday and Monday, Tuesday around Easter. We spent Thursday day at the zoo and had a fantastic time. The weather was quite chilly, and it looked like rain the entire time, but overall it wasn't too crowded and it's always fun at the zoo. We even got to go to an IMAX show...which this year is included in the zoo pass! What a nice perk!
Saturday we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday! We started out the day with the grandkids taking him to the Children's Museum. :) We gave him 3 hours of flight lessons...just a start to a life-long dream. I'm so grateful for my dad and the loving father, grandfather and man he is...blessed, I truly am!
Sawyer and Grandpa at the water table.
Lainey and Kinley at the optical center.
Sawyer and Keaton at the train table.
Sophie loved the drums. :)
Look what I found in the sports room?
Matt playing basketball with the boys.
The Children's Museum has such fun activities!
Sophie built this house with Grandpa.
The Birthday Boy!
Kinley saying "Cheeeese!"
3 hours of flight time!
The kids built a nest/resting place for the Easter Bunny after lunch complete with water and carrots. And, the Easter bunny actually drank the water and nibbled at and ate many of the carrots Saturday night!
Dying Easter Eggs...
Sunday we attended the Easter service and celebrated our Risen Lord!!! The kids awoke to the Easter bunny and hunted eggs, they played with their cousins and we all had a great time together.
The Easter Bunny hid eggs a little harder this year since the kids are getting older. :)
The kids got a couple things from mom and dad...like Thirty-One bags. ;)
The Easter Bunny found Underoos for Sawyer!
Looking through the eggs!
Ready for church!

Happy Easter!
Good thing the Easter Bunny brought umbrellas in the kids' baskets because the egg hunt in the afternoon definitely required their use!
Evening time was spent camping in a backyard fort and 'roasting' the marshmallow bunnies from the kids' baskets.
I had to include this picture because the kids hid empty eggs from each other in the afternoon. I found Sophie when they were playing in the fort and she whispered to me that the kids still hadn't found some of the eggs. They were in her inside-out turned pockets! :) She walked around like that for a couple hours. Oh, my little Sophie. :)
Although intending to go back Sunday night, the kids begged to stay one more night. Monday was a cold and rainy day, so before heading home, we stopped out at The Big Apple (a childhood hang-out of mine) and took the kids bowling. What a BLAST we had together!! Of course we couldn't head out of town without driving through Dairy Queen and getting Blizzards. Yum! :)
Tuesday was our last day of Spring Break together. Matt had to go back to work, so the kids and I ventured to a little place I had been wanting to try. Create is in Elkhorn and is a art/craft kid's dream. My kiddos LOVED it. They carry all sorts of craft/art projects. Sophie chose to paint/design a hand puppet. Lainey painted a stuffed dog. And, Sawyer painted and painted and painted a wooden toy airplane and car. All three of course added sparkle glue to their finished projects. They really turned out neat and the kids had so much fun!
Well...what a long post this turned out to be. And...the zoo and Create pictures are on my phone. :) It's just too hard for me to choose which pictures to put in and which to leave out. And, believe it or not...I do leave pictures out! :)
Despite some crummy weather, I really couldn't have asked for a better week!
