Life-Saver

This is definitely not going to be the most exciting post I've ever done.  But, I do hope that it will prove to be helpful to you...as learning the info has been a life-saver for me.

A couple years ago, my friend Tracey made an unfortunate trip to the E.R. with one of her boys (everything turned out fine).  In leaving, she made a comment to the nurse that her white top would be going in the trash.  There was blood all over it.  One day, I mentioned Sawyer has chronic nose-bleeds and it was ruining sheets, clothes, etc.  She told me about this little trick she had learned with Hydrogen Peroxide.

When poured on blood, it "eats" it (using my sophisticated Scientific terminology).  Wash the item or garment normally after that (or rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary), and most of the time the blood stain is gone.  You may want to do a little stain spray after the peroxide before washing if you think it needs it.  (One tip...do not manipulate the stain first.  i.e. Don't wipe blood off a shirt with a wet-wipe.  But, the stain can be totally dried on.)

This has saved me SO many times that I thought I really should pass this information on.  Although I hope you don't have to use it...as blood on objects usually means pain of some sort...or near-death as my kids would have you think...but if you do need it...this cheap little fix can come to your rescue too!

Summer Sports

I just about forgot that we did summer sports this year.  Sometimes my life is a blur.  :)  But, here are pics from the girls T-ball and Softball careers.  :)

Back-to-School

I can hardly believe it's that time of year again...Back-to-School.  We did the school list shopping and even bought a few new items to wear.  But, it still didn't seem real.  We had our school open house and hosted our 3rd Annual Back-to-School bash last night.  But, until reading "The Kissing Hand" right before bed, it hadn't really hit me.  I swallowed hard and read slowly in some parts, then kissed each kids' hand...now it was real.  School is here.  Sophie is going to Kindergarten.  And, Lainey will be in 2nd Grade.  Sawyer will start preschool in a couple weeks.  Where did the time go?  I'm afraid to blink.

Doing a craft project at home...after getting home from doing a project at Create.  :)

One of my favorite things to do at our Back-to-School bash is dish out ice cream for sundaes.  I LOVE listening to the kids comment on all the toppings.

Lainey's 1st day of 2nd Grade!  What a beautiful girl!

Sophie's 1st day of Kindergarten!  She's so cute and spunky.

Our teacher gift we made for the teachers.  I found this on a cute blog.  It's SO easy just using Rolos, a Hershey kiss and cardstock.  FUN!  The kids were SO excited about them!

Visit from the Scholl's

Memorial Day 2011

We were able to spend some time with my sister and her hubby and little girl over Memorial Day weekend.  Unfortunately with school still in session, we were only able to see them a couple days...but I'm thankful we at least got that.  The kids all had a GREAT time together!  I can't wait for Christmas to get here to see them again (especially since the newest addition to the Scholl family will be coming home too)!
