Thomas Fun Run

Lainey did the Thomas Elementary Fun Run at school on April 18 .  It's a fundraiser they do.  The kids get an automatic 2 laps for walking to and from the school...then they see how many laps they can do around the track in 30 minutes.  Including the 2 laps, Lainey ended up with 11 laps.  Not bad...and it was a fun morning too!

Getting to the Track

Ready to take off

There she goes!

 a much-needed water break.

 coming around the turn...

...and off again!

 Back to school they go!

Sawyer got to run around the track with the kids and was NOT a happy camper when they headed back to school for the rest of the day.

Rainy Day Fun

The kids and I had fun this morning drawing up our own city on brown paper.  I found this idea on a site linked from my friend Alison's page.  It was fun making this up with the kids...having them tell me what buildings they wanted in their city and especially what to name them.  Sophie thought of needing a gas station and naming it "Gassy's Gas Station."  We also had a Dr. Sawyer's Dr. Office, a fire station, Icy Ice Cream Store, and a couple others.

Complete with Buzz Lightyear and Alien on the Teeter-Totter, Elmo on the Merry-go-Round and some army guy on the swings.  :)

Little Ponies drinking around the lake at the pond.

The kids had a great time playing!  What a fun afternoon.

1st Grade Field Trip

Lainey took her 1st Grade class field trip last Wednesday.  They started the day attending the production of Flat Stanley at the Rose Theater.  The second half of the day I was lucky enough to join in at The Omaha's Children Museum.  It was so much fun watching the kids interact and just run crazy.  I remember those fun days out of school, times out of the norm.  I'm so blessed to have gotten to join in for a couple hours.

Matt took Sophie, Sawyer and Cohen (my cousin's son who I watch on Wednesdays) to the YMCA Kids' Club to workout over lunch while I met Lainey and her class.  Then he went to the park where I met up with them when I finished.  Here are some pictures from both:

The 3 kiddos I was in charge of at the museum. :)

What a fun place!

...interesting concepts around every corner

...and hair-raising experiences.  :)

They even had the restored original Gordman's play animals.  (I remember playing on those when I was little during our shopping trips to Grand Island.)

Lainey LOVED the craft center.  Her creativity makes me smile!

Sophie LOVES the playground.

Cohen thought he was too quick for a picture, but my shutter snapped a little faster than he expected. :)

Simply sweet.

Right in his element.

Just loved being outside...felt like spring!

A little daredevil.

It was a great day for the park!
