At the start of every school year, I stand back in wonder and awe of my little people the God has entrusted to me...at the sparkle in their eyes and their thrill of a new year, the unknown, and a joy for learning. Lainey bounded into 1st Grade mid-August...and Sophie could hardly wait to join her preschool class just before Labor Day. Here are my two beautiful girls...ready for the new year! (and a few pre-activities to start them on their way)
We painted pottery as a special "day before school starts" activity. We invited our special neighbor friend along and had a great time!
Lainey loves being creative, so this was right up her alley!
Sophie's plate before it got fired. She did a fantastic job!
Jocelyn enjoyed the day with us too!
Sawyer painted and painted and painted his plate...until it had a new texture all its own. :)
4 terrific kids and their projects
Each year we host a Back-to-School Bash...and this year was no exception...although we went right up to the wire having it the night before school started. We enjoyed grilled hotdogs, brats and potluck grub. Of course, we ended the evening with the infamous sundaes with toppings galore!
Sundaes! Kids put on their own toppings...with the exception of cherries and whipped cream. Parents took care of those. :)
Sophie's creation
Enjoying each other and the potluck...celebrating the start of school.

1st Day of 1st Grade
Lainey is growing too big...too fast!
Heading off the bus at the end of the day.
We're excited to hear about her day! ♥

Look at this big girl! ♥
Sophie is such a little poser. ♥
Getting papers at the end of the day.
Heading out the door. :)
