Friday we watched fireworks from our neighbor's yard. We had a decent view to watch spectacular fireworks. They didn't start until after 10, and Sawyer was in bed by 8:30, so it made more sense to just stay home. Of course, we couldn't hang out with the neighbors on a weekend without a firepit...and smores. YUM!
Saturday, we went to the parade and then to the park for a BBQ lunch and the kiddie pedal tractor pull. It ended up they had an adult division too...just for fun! The firefighter water fights followed the pedal tractor pull, and they even had a kids' fight. So, the girls each got to do that. FUN! A barrel was strung on a wire hung overhead and kids battled it out with hoses and the help of firefighters. I missed pics of Lainey, but she came out of it just as soaking wet! :) Sawyer napped when we got home, and the girls swam with neighbor kids. It was a long fun day!
Sunday there was a free picnic at the park. There were some craft booths and some live music playing as well. Much to the kids' delight there were bounce houses and small carnival rides and some games. So, our afternoon was just packed full of fun, fun, fun!
It really was a fantastic weekend!

Lainey and Sophie and their little neighbor friend decided to have a little rock band while waiting for the fireworks. They put on little mini-performances for us. It was quite cute.
YEAH! The basketball hoop is up, and the kids have had so much fun! Here our neighbor is helping Matt with the last heave-ho!

Sawyer loved watching the parade and was intrigued by the different floats and just the parade in general. He especially liked the firetrucks and tractors.

Sophie starting out the tractor pull. They had the 4 and under division just ride the tractor, but they did hook Sophie up to the sled. "She looks like a strong one" is what they guy said when she walked up. If only her stubbornness/feistiness could have pulled the sled...we would have been out of the park! :)

Lainey started out the girl 5-year-old division. She did have to pull the sled as the actual contest was for 5-11 year-olds.

Sophie waiting in line for the "teacup" ride. At the last minute Lainey decided she didn't want to go, so I agreed to go with them. I did NOT feel well when I got off that ride, and we weren't even doing any extra spinning...I tell you, the older I get the worse I do on those rides.
